New study aims to catch Sepsis-Related kidney failure early

NCT ID NCT07472452

First seen Mar 20, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 6 times

Summary

This study looks at 130 adults with sepsis to see if a kidney ultrasound (renal resistance index) and a urine test can predict acute kidney injury before it happens. Researchers will measure these markers right after sepsis diagnosis and track who develops kidney problems. The goal is to find a better way to detect kidney damage early, but this is an observational study — no treatment is given.
