Brain scans could predict who will lose memory after radiation

NCT ID NCT04638478

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 26 times

Summary

This study looks at whether special MRI scans can predict which meningioma patients will have memory or thinking problems after brain radiation. About 67 adults with a slow-growing type of brain tumor will have advanced MRI scans and thinking tests before and up to two years after treatment. The goal is to find out which brain areas are most sensitive to radiation, so future treatments can be personalized to protect those areas and reduce cognitive decline.
