First seen Feb 16, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 18 times
Summary
This study looks at why the heart drug mavacamten works better for some people with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (a condition where the heart muscle thickens). Researchers will check if a person's specific gene causing HCM and their natural ability to process medications (via the CYP2C19 gene) affect the drug's performance. About 140 adults with obstructive HCM will participate to help tailor future treatments.
