First seen Jan 05, 2026 · Last updated May 25, 2026 · Updated 21 times
Summary
This study aims to improve treatment for obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) in people with Down syndrome by matching therapy to each person's specific cause of OSA. Researchers will compare a standard medication combination (atomoxetine and oxybutynin) with a personalized approach that assigns either medication or oxygen therapy based on individual needs. The trial involves 200 children and adults across five U.S. sites, tracking sleep, quality of life, behavior, and thinking over 12 months.
