Summary
This study tests whether sending a brief, educational prompt to patients aged 65 and older before their primary care appointment can help them and their doctor decide together about starting or stopping statin medications. About 1700 participants will be randomly assigned to receive the prompt or usual care. The goal is to see if this simple reminder leads to more appropriate prescribing or deprescribing of statins.
