Can a quick lesson before surgery stop dangerous falls?
NCT ID NCT03857945
Summary
This study is testing if a short training session on how to use crutches, walkers, or knee scooters before surgery can help prevent patients from falling during recovery. Researchers will enroll 250 adults having elective foot or ankle surgery. Half will get the special pre-surgery training, and half will not, to see which group has fewer falls in the first 6 weeks after their operation.
