Kids' Pre-Op jitters linked to worse pain and delirium after surgery
NCT ID NCT07343388
First seen Jan 16, 2026 · Last updated Apr 29, 2026 · Updated 13 times
Summary
This study watched 114 children aged 2 to 7 years having urogenital surgery to see if being more anxious before the operation leads to more pain and confusion after waking up. Researchers measured anxiety right before anesthesia and then tracked pain, delirium, and recovery in the recovery room. The goal was to understand the link between pre-surgery nerves and how kids feel right after surgery, without giving any treatment.
