First seen Jan 06, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 25 times
Summary
This study looks at whether giving a combination of intravenous iron, erythropoietin (EPO), and tranexamic acid before surgery can improve anemia and reduce the need for blood transfusions in people with bone tumors. About 160 adults with low iron or hemoglobin levels who are scheduled for open surgery on the spine, pelvis, or sacrum will take part. The goal is to see if this approach helps patients recover better and avoid blood shortages.
