Pre-hab before breast reconstruction may ease shoulder pain

NCT ID NCT07418060

First seen Feb 19, 2026 · Last updated Jun 13, 2026 · Updated 16 times

Summary

This study tests whether doing physiotherapy and using a mechanical stimulation device before breast reconstruction surgery can reduce shoulder pain and improve movement afterward. About 72 women scheduled for a specific type of breast reconstruction (using a back muscle flap) will take part. Half will get the pre-surgery program, and half will receive standard care. The goal is to see if preparing the tissues beforehand leads to better recovery.
