Pre-habilitation may ease shoulder pain after breast reconstruction

NCT ID NCT07418060

First seen Feb 19, 2026 · Last updated May 01, 2026 · Updated 9 times

Summary

This study tests whether doing physiotherapy and mechanical stimulation before breast reconstruction surgery can reduce shoulder pain and improve movement afterward. About 72 women scheduled for a latissimus dorsi flap reconstruction will be randomly assigned to either pre-surgery therapy or standard care. The goal is to see if preparing the tissues beforehand leads to better recovery and less long-term discomfort.
