First seen Jan 03, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 24 times
Summary
This small pilot study tested whether pramipexole, a drug used for Parkinson's disease, could reduce anhedonia (loss of interest or pleasure) in people with depression. 13 adults with depression and significant anhedonia took the drug alongside their usual antidepressants. Researchers used brain scans and blood tests to understand how the drug works and who might benefit.
