Simple blood test may predict postpartum depression risk in pregnant women

Summary

This study aims to see if a blood test can predict which pregnant women will develop postpartum depression (PPD). Up to 500 pregnant women will give a blood sample in their third trimester and then be checked for depression symptoms for 6 months after giving birth. The test is experimental and not yet FDA-approved, and participants will not receive their test results.
