New support program aims to help veterans manage bipolar and addiction

Summary

This study tested a special support program for veterans who have both bipolar disorder and substance use problems after they leave the hospital. Half of the 138 veterans received the new program, while the other half got extra safety check-ins. The goal was to see if the program helps them stick to their medication and manage their conditions better.
