Air purifiers tested as heart failure treatment after hospital stay

Summary
This study tests whether using portable air cleaners at home after a heart failure hospital stay can improve heart health. 400 adults will receive either a real air cleaner or a sham device for 90 days. Researchers will measure changes in a heart stress marker (NTproBNP) and track hospital readmissions or deaths.
