Summary
This study tested a new endoscopic procedure called POEM to treat achalasia, a condition that makes swallowing difficult. Doctors performed the procedure on 100 patients by creating a small tunnel in the esophagus to cut the tight muscle. The goal was to relieve swallowing problems without major surgery.
