Summary

This study tested whether a drug called PLS240 could safely and effectively treat a hormone disorder called secondary hyperparathyroidism in people with kidney failure who are on dialysis. For the first 27 weeks, 412 participants were randomly assigned to receive either the drug or a placebo (inactive substance) without knowing which one they got. After that, eligible participants could receive the actual drug for another 26 weeks. The main goal was to see if the drug could significantly lower a specific hormone level compared to the placebo.
