Blood-Derived dressing shows promise for stubborn wounds
NCT ID NCT07420868
First seen Feb 28, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 9 times
Summary
This study tested whether a dressing made from a patient's own platelets (platelet-rich plasma) helps heal chronic wounds better than a standard saline dressing. One hundred adults with long-lasting skin ulcers, including diabetic foot ulcers, took part. The goal was to see if the platelet dressing could shrink the wound more and speed up complete healing over six weeks.
