Blood plasma dressings tested to heal stubborn wounds
NCT ID NCT07420868
Summary
This study tested whether a special dressing made from a patient's own blood (platelet-rich plasma) works better than a standard saline dressing for healing chronic skin sores that won't close on their own. It involved 100 adults with ulcers lasting over 6 weeks, including diabetic foot ulcers. Both groups received the same basic wound care, but the study aimed to see if the plasma dressing, which contains natural healing factors, could speed up recovery.
