First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 25, 2026 · Updated 30 times
Summary
This study tested whether placing preterm or low birth weight babies in plastic bags right after birth helps prevent hypothermia (dangerously low body temperature). About 182 babies born in a hospital were included. The bags were used along with standard World Health Organization warming care. The main goal was to see if babies' temperatures stayed normal one hour after birth.
