First seen Jan 08, 2026 · Last updated May 11, 2026 · Updated 23 times
Summary
This study looked at whether eating plant-based fibers (prebiotics) for a while can improve memory, attention, mood, and gut health in healthy adults aged 60 to 75. Fifty participants took either a fiber supplement or a placebo, and researchers measured their thinking skills, anxiety, depression, and gut bacteria. The goal was to learn more about how diet might support brain health as we age.
