Summary
This study tests a training tool for brain surgeons: a fresh human placenta. Its blood vessels look like those in the brain, and doctors can practice repairing bulging spots (aneurysms) on it. The goal is to improve surgical skills without using animals or expensive computer simulators. About 50 placentas from consenting mothers will be used to train neurosurgery students.
