NCT ID NCT06806709

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated Jun 17, 2026 · Updated 37 times

Summary

This study tests a special device called PIVO Pro that lets doctors draw blood for infection tests through an IV line already in the arm, avoiding extra needle sticks. The goal is to see if this method reduces contamination of the blood sample compared to the usual way. About 1,148 adults in three emergency departments will take part, and researchers will track how often samples are contaminated or not filled enough.
