First seen Jan 10, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 16 times
Summary
This study tests a treatment called photodynamic therapy (PDT) that uses a light-sensitive drug and a special light to destroy abnormal cervical cells caused by HPV types 16 or 18. About 225 women with low-grade cervical lesions will either receive PDT or be watched without treatment. The main goal is to see if the lesions go away and the virus clears within 6 months.
