New light gel could zap stubborn acne without antibiotics
NCT ID NCT07089368
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This small pilot study will test a new type of light therapy for moderate-to-severe acne. A special gel is applied to the face, then activated with red light to kill bacteria and reduce inflammation. Ten people aged 16 and older will receive treatments twice a week. The goal is to see if this approach is safe, tolerable, and effective for those who haven't had success with standard treatments.
