New scan aims to spot deadly blood clots in one test

NCT ID NCT04022915

Summary

This early-stage study tested a new type of PET scan designed to find fresh blood clots in the lungs (pulmonary embolism) and legs (deep vein thrombosis). Researchers wanted to see if this new imaging method, which uses a special tracer that sticks to clots, could provide a clearer picture than current tests. The study involved 6 adults who had recently been diagnosed with a significant blood clot.
