Summary
This study looked at whether a special PET scan tracer called F-DOPA can better detect leftover medullary thyroid cancer in lymph nodes after surgery compared to standard scans. Twenty-four adults with high thyrocalcitonin levels after thyroid removal took part. The goal was to see if this new imaging method improves detection of remaining cancer, which could guide further treatment.
