NCT ID NCT02155621
First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated Jun 22, 2026 · Updated 34 times
Summary
This study aims to use full genome sequencing of tumors to identify genetic drivers of cancer and match them with targeted therapies. Researchers will enroll 5,000 people with advanced or metastatic cancers to see how often genomic data influences treatment decisions. The goal is to improve personalized cancer care and build a comprehensive cancer genomics database.

What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
genome sequencing
What this could lead to
If successful, this could help doctors choose more effective, personalized treatments for advanced cancers and build a valuable database for future research.
What could go wrong
This is an observational study, not a treatment trial. It may not directly benefit participants, and the impact on clinical decisions may be limited.
Conditions
The condition(s) this trial relates to.
As listed by the trial registrant
The condition terms exactly as the trial's registrant entered them.
