First seen Oct 31, 2025 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 29 times
Summary
This study tests whether giving extra riboflavin (vitamin B2) and folate to pregnant women with a specific gene variant can prevent high blood pressure. About 2250 women in early pregnancy will be screened for the MTHFR gene, and those with the TT or CT variant will receive supplements or placebo until delivery. The goal is a simple, non-drug way to protect both mother and baby from pregnancy-related hypertension.
