Blood test guides stronger treatment for bowel disease

NCT ID NCT05180175

Summary

This study tested whether using a blood protein test to identify patients with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) at high risk for severe disease could improve their outcomes. Newly diagnosed patients were randomly assigned to either have their treatment guided by this test or receive standard care. The goal was to see if giving stronger 'top-down' treatment early to high-risk patients led to better control of their disease and improved quality of life.
