First seen Mar 24, 2026 · Last updated May 19, 2026 · Updated 8 times
Summary
This study compared gum health and inflammatory markers in 25 people with non-infectious uveitis (eye inflammation) and 27 healthy individuals. Researchers measured gum pocket depth, bleeding, and levels of inflammatory proteins in saliva, gum fluid, and blood. The goal was to see if gum inflammation and body-wide inflammation are connected to this eye condition. No treatment was given; it was purely observational.
