First seen Jan 07, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 15 times
Summary
This study looked at 80 women after menopause to see if there is a connection between gum disease and a bone-related protein called sclerostin. Researchers collected blood and gum fluid samples to measure levels of this protein and another marker. The goal was to better understand how osteoporosis and gum disease might affect each other, but no treatment was given.
