New mesh may improve gum disease treatment around implants

Summary

This study tests a new type of mesh (reinforced PTFE) against a standard collagen membrane for treating gum disease around dental implants. About 32 adults with peri-implantitis will receive surgery using one of the two materials. The goal is to see which material leads to better healing of the bone and gum around the implant.
