First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated Jun 22, 2026 · Updated 38 times
Summary
This early-phase trial tests a new drug called peposertib combined with a standard chemotherapy (PLD) in women with ovarian cancer that has returned after platinum treatment. The study enrolls 54 participants and focuses on finding the safest dose and monitoring side effects. If successful, the combination might help control tumor growth in hard-to-treat ovarian cancers.

What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
peposertib (M3814) combined with pegylated liposomal doxorubicin (PLD)
What this could lead to
If this works, it could offer a new treatment option for women with ovarian cancer that has stopped responding to platinum-based chemotherapy.
What could go wrong
This is an early Phase I trial with only 54 participants, so the main goal is safety and dosing—not yet proof of effectiveness. Side effects from combining the two drugs are unknown and could be significant.
