Gum fluid test could spot hidden gum disease in denture patients
NCT ID NCT07271563
First seen Jan 06, 2026 · Last updated May 19, 2026 · Updated 27 times
Summary
This study looked at a protein called pentraxin in the gum fluid of people with fixed dentures. The goal was to see if pentraxin levels can help detect early gum disease that isn't visible during a regular checkup. Researchers studied 90 adults who needed fixed dentures and had no obvious gum inflammation. The findings may improve how dentists plan treatment and monitor gum health.
