New approach aims to cut opioid use after penile implants

Summary
This study is testing whether injecting local anesthesia directly into the penis during implant surgery reduces pain afterward. Researchers want to see if this approach helps patients recover with less discomfort and decreases their need for opioid painkillers. The trial will compare the anesthesia injection against a placebo saline injection in 100 men getting their first penile implant.
