First seen Mar 07, 2026 · Last updated May 20, 2026 · Updated 7 times
Summary
This study tests if a special nerve block, called a PENG block, can reduce pain and inflammation in older adults having hip replacement surgery. 60 people aged 65-100 will be randomly assigned to get either the nerve block or a fake procedure. The goal is to see if the block lowers the body's stress response to surgery, which could lead to better pain control and faster recovery.
