New device could keep donor hearts alive longer for transplant

Summary
This study tests a machine that keeps donor hearts healthy outside the body for a longer time before transplant. About 20 adults with severe heart failure who cannot get a standard transplant will receive a heart preserved with this device. The goal is to see if the heart works well within 15 days after surgery.
