New device could extend donor heart lifespan, saving more patients

Summary
This study tests a machine that keeps donated hearts alive outside the body for longer periods before transplantation. The goal is to see if hearts preserved this way work well within two weeks after transplant. About 20 adults with severe heart failure who cannot get a standard transplant will participate.
