Summary
This study tests a program called Khanya, where trained peers (people who have dealt with substance use themselves) help HIV patients stick to their medication and reduce alcohol or drug use. The program is designed for HIV clinics in South Africa and will be compared to standard care over 12 months. About 160 adults with HIV who struggle with medication adherence and substance use will take part.
