Could a brain injection slow Parkinson's? new trial begins

NCT ID NCT07157345

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 18, 2026 · Updated 23 times

Summary

This early-stage study tests a new treatment called PDR-001 for people with Parkinson's disease. The treatment is a peptide delivered directly into the brain to clear a harmful protein called alpha-synuclein, which is linked to Parkinson's. The main goal is to check safety in 12 participants, but researchers will also look for signs that it might slow the disease. This is not a cure, as ongoing medication is still needed.
