New knee shot aims to ease arthritis pain for years

Summary
This study tests a single knee injection of an experimental drug called PCRX-201 in 135 adults aged 45–80 with painful knee osteoarthritis. The goal is to see if it is safe and tolerable, and to explore how well it reduces knee pain and improves joint function over up to 5 years. Participants receive either a low dose, a high dose, or a placebo after a steroid pretreatment.
