First seen Jan 05, 2026 · Last updated Apr 30, 2026 · Updated 19 times

Summary

This study looks at whether a fast PCR test on stool samples can help emergency room doctors make better treatment decisions for children with stomach symptoms like diarrhea, vomiting, or belly pain. About 526 children under 16 will be randomly assigned to get immediate test results or delayed results. The goal is to see if quick results lead to more targeted antibiotic use and better follow-up care.
