First seen Jan 24, 2026 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 21 times
Summary
This study looked at whether a short training class could improve how doctors, nurses, and other healthcare workers understand patient-controlled analgesia (PCA) — a device that lets patients give themselves pain medicine after surgery. About 242 healthcare professionals from surgical units and ICUs took a quiz before and after the training. The goal was to see if their knowledge and attitudes about PCA got better, which could help prevent mistakes and improve patient safety.
