Summary

This study is developing and testing a simple tool to help people with opioid use disorder make informed decisions about starting buprenorphine treatment in the emergency department. About 20 adults who meet criteria for moderate-to-severe opioid use disorder and are not currently on medication will try the tool. Researchers will measure how acceptable the tool is, whether it improves patient knowledge and reduces uncertainty, and how many people choose to start buprenorphine.
