Summary
This study tested whether watching or interacting with parrots could distract people from the pain of getting a blood draw. Researchers compared a live parrot, a robotic parrot, and a picture of a parrot in 240 adults with chronic illnesses. The goal was to find a simple, drug-free way to make routine medical procedures more comfortable.
