Summary
This study tested whether watching a live parrot, a robotic parrot, or a picture of a parrot could help reduce the pain adults with chronic illnesses feel when getting their blood drawn. Researchers compared these three distraction methods in 240 participants to see which was most effective at lowering pain scores during the procedure. The goal was to find a simple, drug-free way to make routine medical tests more comfortable.
