First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 20, 2026 · Updated 28 times
Summary
This study looked at 72 children aged 4-7 who had never been to the dentist before and needed a filling. Researchers wanted to see if having a parent in the room, behind a barrier, or not in the room at all affected the child's anxiety and behavior during treatment. They measured anxiety using questionnaires, heart rate, and oxygen levels, and recorded the child's behavior on video. The goal was to find the best approach to help children feel calm and cooperate during dental care.
