Surgery aims to restore strength and walking ability in seniors
NCT ID NCT07103876
Summary
This study is looking at whether surgery to remove a small gland in the neck (the parathyroid) can help older adults walk better, get stronger, and be more active. Researchers will follow 80 people aged 60 and older who are already scheduled for this surgery at UF Health. They will measure participants' walking endurance, leg strength, and daily activity levels before and after the procedure to see if mobility improves.
