First seen May 04, 2026 · Last updated May 19, 2026 · Updated 2 times

Summary

This study looked at the best way to treat acanthamoeba keratitis, a rare but serious eye infection caused by a parasite. 49 people took part and were first given either chlorhexidine alone or chlorhexidine plus povidone iodine. Later, some received corticosteroids early, some later, and some a placebo. The goal was to see which approach clears the infection and improves vision.
