New screening study aims to catch deadly pancreatic cancer early in High-Risk individuals
NCT ID NCT02478892
Summary
This study is testing whether regular screening with MRI or a special ultrasound can help find early pancreatic cancer or pre-cancerous growths in people who have a high inherited risk. Researchers are enrolling 200 adults who carry specific genetic mutations (BRCA1, BRCA2, ATM, or PALB2) that increase their chance of developing pancreatic cancer. The goal is to see if this screening approach is practical and effective for catching tumors early, when treatment is more likely to be successful.
