New screening study aims to catch deadly pancreatic cancer early in High-Risk individuals

NCT ID NCT02478892

Summary

This study is testing whether regular screening with MRI or a special ultrasound can help find early pancreatic cancer or pre-cancerous changes in people who have a high inherited risk due to specific gene mutations (BRCA1, BRCA2, ATM, or PALB2). Researchers will follow 200 participants over time to see if these screening methods are practical and effective for this group. The goal is to detect problems early when they might be more treatable, potentially improving survival.
